Five community and voluntary organisations provide dedicated welfare support and advice to victims and survivors.

What can a Welfare Support Officer help me with?

A Welfare Support Worker is a person who can assist you to engage with all types of welfare support including Universal Credit, Employment Support Allowance (ESA), Housing and Personal Independence Payments (PIP). Below are some of the main areas that victims and survivors require support on:

  • PIP forms & assessment
  • Employment Support Allowance
  • Universal Credit and related Housing Issues
  • PIP Mandatory Reconsiderations (MR)
  • PIP Appeals – including those in a court setting
  • PIP reassessments – after 1-2 years
  • PIP Severe Disability Payments
  • Pension Credit
  • Passport Benefits – Blue Badge permits etc
  • Liaising with the Department for Communities & Capita on individual cases

Welfare Support Workers have experience of working with victims and survivors, and understand the sensitivity and importance of your information needs.
