MUVE Memory Quilt

........................................................................................................................

On Sunday 28th April members, friends and families of Mid-Ulster Victims Empowerment attended a re-dedication service in St. Annes Church, Dungannon to mark the inclusion of memorial images hand-crafted by members of MUVE to the MUVE Memory Quilt.

MUVE was formed in 2012 to support victims and survivors of the Troubles-conflict, to ensuring their individual needs are met and the appropriate interventions are in place across a wide range of resources.

In recent years MUVE have sought to deliver several projects which provide opportunities for those killed to be remembered, the harm suffered by the injured recognised, and for their families to be acknowledged for the traumatic experiences that they have endured.

An accompanying booklet provides pen portraits of every individual included in the quilt. This serves to give visitors a sense of the type of the person they were, their interests, hobbies, their commitment to their Christian faith, their community, service and their family.

MUVE will exhibit the Memory Quilt permanently in their offices in Cookstown as well as at events across Northern Ireland over the coming year.
