After over a decade of dedicated service, VSS Board Chair Oliver Wilkinson will conclude his final term on the VSS Board on 30th April 2024.
Oliver was appointed to the VSS Board on 13th December 2013, and to the position of Chair on 1st April 2015. His steadfast leadership and guidance ensured the Victims and Survivors Service evolved as a pillar of support and service to improve the health and wellbeing of Victims and Survivors.
Prior to taking up his appointment at VSS, Oliver had approximately twenty years senior management experience in the voluntary sector, firstly as CEO of Victim Support NI from 1992- 2002 and CEO of Discovery 80 Ltd from 2002-2011. Oliver is also a founding member of Healing Through Remembering, a diverse member-led organisation working on how to work through the legacy of the Northern Ireland’s past.
Staff, friends and colleagues at VSS, and those across the sector, are forever indebted to Oliver for his discerning stewardship of our Board and his indelible influence on providing the best possible support for Victims and Survivors – as per his own admission, ‘there is no template in the world for the victims work we are doing’. We wish Oliver all the best for future projects.
