Executive Office Committee Inquiry and Redress Scheme Bill consultation open

........................................................................................................................

As part of the Northern Ireland Assembly’s legislative processes, the Inquiry (Mother and Baby Institutions, Magdalene Laundries and Workhouses) and Redress Scheme Bill has been referred to the Assembly’s Committee for The Executive Office so that the Committee may consider and take evidence on the Bill and report its opinion to the Assembly.

As such, the Committee has launched its consultation inviting victims, survivors and stakeholders to comment and feedback on the Bill’s content.

The consultation survey is hosted on Citizen Space, an online citizen engagement platform used worldwide by central governments and local authorities for public consultation.  The survey can be found at the link below.

The closing date for responses is Monday 29 September 2025.

In addition, the Committee will be holding a number of Familiarisation Sessions to help stakeholders understand the legislative process of the bill, and particularly the Committee Stage. Future sessions will take place on the following dates:

  • Tuesday 9th September in Wave Trauma Centre.
  • Thursday 11th September online/virtual.
